I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and am licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences to practice in the State of California. I hold a Master of Science Degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling from California State University, Northridge, earned in 2007. I additionally hold a 200 hour yoga certification from YogaWorks, which has helped to broaden my understanding of the mind-body connection as it relates to mental health.
I have over 15 years of clinical experience working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, intimacy and relationship issues, chronic stress, grief and loss, and perinatal issues. I am deeply interested in the research on the neuroscience of movement and breathwork as they relate to mood regulation and have both personal and clinical experience in the efficacy of these practices.
I have an extensive background in crisis intervention and spent the first half of my career working in community clinic settings, where I was afforded the opportunity to work with diverse populations presenting with widely differing life stressors. While the experience with each individual client is invariably unique, the overlapping humanity of fear, love, grief, and struggle have been universal. Each client holds a special place in my heart, and I consider it my life's purpose and a true honor to do this work.
I would love to talk with you about your personal goals for therapy and determine together if we may be a good fit.
